Management Accountant - Media

An independent TV production company has an opportunity for nearly or newly qualified accountant to join their busy and growing team.  Reporting into the Head of Finance you will have responsibility for the management accounting alongside business partnering and managing the finances of the productions.

This is a highly entrepreneurial business that has recently gained new funding and has exciting plans in place.

To be a suitable candidate you will have excellent academics and ideally have recently qualified in a Top 20 Accounting practice and be looking for your first move into industry. Alternatively you will have recently or be about to qualify and have gained your management accounting experience in an SME media company.

The role has come about due to an internal promotion as a result of continued expansion in the UK & Internationally.

This is a fantastic role that requires a confident, adaptable and very personable individual.

The Role:

• Preparation of the management accounts for 3 group companies;
• Preparation and monitoring of production budgets, working closely with the production teams;
• Prepare and develop the reporting packs displaying actuals vs budget and KPIs;
• Assist with the annual budgeting and reforecasting process;
• Balance sheet reconciliations;
• Intercompany recharges;
• Assist with the bi-annual royalty statements;
• Prepare the VAT returns and bi-annual tax credit claims;
• Assist with the annual audit & statutory accounts process.

The Person:

• Newly qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent);
• Strong academic background and educated to degree calibre;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Advanced Excel skills;
• Highly motivated, self starter who is proactive, conscientious and adaptable;
• Attention to detail, deadline orientated and happy to roll their sleeves up.
• Experience gained within a Top 20 accounting firm or a media organisation.
