Partner Financial are working with a large Business Services organisation based in Central London. They are currently going through a full refurb and regeneration project which has highlighted the need for a Capital Project Accountant.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this opportunity will bridge the gap between the delivery partner team and Senior Management, ensuring managers and directors receive timely and accurate information in relation to operational investments. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing the link between the delivery partner team and senior management
  • Ensuring timely information is provided to enable informed business decisions to be made
  • Ensuring consistency between accounting records and project reporting on value of works completed against phasing of expenditure for forecasts, budgets and long-term plans
  • Developing a management information pack for senior management
  • Flag risks and opportunities throughout the project compared to forecasts, plans and cashflow projections
  • Challenging project managers on the forecast spend on all capital projects
  • Developing appropriate models to project monthly capital cashflows for inclusion in group cashflow models
  • Providing guidance on the application of the capitalisation policy to project manager to assist in the correct recognition of capital versus operating expenditure
  • Liaising with the FC to determine how project assets should be brought into
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements within the team and across the business

The successful candidate will posses the following:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA /CIMA or other) or experienced finalist.
  • Experience in project accounting
  • Ability to forge successful & challenging relationships across the business

  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to priorities and time manage workload
