Ignata Finance are partnering with a multinational engineering business who have revenues of over £600 million, and a global R&D, production, sales, and operations footprint worldwide. The business continues to strive to be at the forefront of innovation and is enjoying rapid expansion by bringing best-in-class solutions to customers across the globe. As a result, we have been instructed to find a high calibre finance professional to fulfil a newly created role as Senior FP&A Analyst.

The successful candidate will be a key contributor and business partner for the financial planning and decision support processes across a major division. You will work across various departments and multiple divisions to provide a wide range of financial and decision support information to senior management. You will have oversight and be responsible for the preparation of budgets, forecasts, month-end reporting and trend analysis to support management decision-making for new initiatives. You will review actuals vs. forecasts, investigate variances, develop tools for improving the forecasting results and roll them out to the executive and management team. You must have a strong general background and have a good appreciation and understanding of overall business operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Present analysis of forecasted amounts in relation to actual results and previous forecasts, and expectations. Highlight and understand major assumptions and their effects on the budget/forecast.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial models, analysing past results and future outcomes in conjunction with market analyses to develop recommendations for changes in model assumptions.
  • Present financial analysis on forecasts and trends. This will include identifying, understanding and communicating changes in forecasts. Trends must also be identified, often by thorough data analysis.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities for the Company.
  • Prepare summaries for market analysis, macro-economic conditions and financial metrics.
  • Identify and convey to senior management key influences on the businesses and trends.

Who we are looking for:

  • Qualified accountant; ACA, CIMA or ACCA
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of working in a large, global, highly matrixed business
  • Exceptional data analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Advanced Excel skills including writing, editing, and troubleshooting
  • Must have highly organised work style and a project manager mindset
  • Strong time and change management skills
  • Ability to influence cross-functionally to achieve positive results
  • HFM experience preferable
