This leading manufacturing and distribution business has enjoyed steady growth and is now a diverse £45m t/o group of companies recognised as a market leader with a loyal customer base. Recent overseas acquisitions have made a positive impact on the performance of the company and a period of restructuring has now created a new position for a Financial Controller to join the business at an exciting time of further expansion. Reporting into the CFO this position will be responsible for all financial reporting for the UK and international subsidiaries and management of the central finance team. Key duties will include:
- Management of the month end close
- Daily, weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts
- Treasury and currency management
- Inter-company transactions
- Reporting for the board and SMT
- Preparation and consolidation of management accounts
- Preparation of statutory accounts and running the audit
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of tax and VAT returns
This will be a very hands on role with responsibility for a transactional team, payroll and two supervisors, in addition to finance contacts based overseas. The ability to motivate and lead will be essential as you will be expected to resolve issues to ensure the accuracy of financial information. The Financial Controller will be expected to develop and implement robust controls and processes to ensure best practice and will work in conjunction with the FP&A team to support the day to day finance needs of the group and ensure key reporting deadlines are met.
Applicants for this Financial Controller position must be ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified and able to demonstrate an excellent academic pedigree and previous experience of managing a team in a medium sized company or larger, any group / international experience would be a benefit. A solid understanding of cash flow forecasting, financial controls and accounting will be essential.
