A fast-growing, private equity backed group (circa £60m turnover) based in Leeds are looking for an ambitious, commercially astute Finance Manager / Designate Financial Controller to join their progressive business.  This is a fantastic opportunity to fast track your career into a Head of Finance role, as you push the current FC into the FD position over the next 1-2 years.

Your remit will include plenty of project involvement which ultimately feeds into the growth strategy. You will be heavily involved in diving down into; costs, profit streams, margin opportunity and erosion hotspots.  You will manage smooth production and presentation of meaningful management accounts and play a key role in streamlining processes, strengthening controls and developing the core MI. 

You will use your technical accounting knowledge, analytical skills and commercial awareness to bring the numbers to life.

The business is growing organically and through purchases and you will have chance to gain exposure to exploring business acquisitions and subsequent mergers.

 You will need to be:

  • Fully qualified (CIMA or equivalent) with a  real drive and ambition.
  • Highly motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Hands-on and not afraid of supporting the team to dig into transactions and bottom out processes / controls.
  • Commercially aware with a confidence when speaking to non finance colleagues.
  • An excellent communicator with strong relationship building skills.
  •  You will be ready for a broad role that will involve board-level reporting, business partnering with non-finance departments, streamlining month end processes and challenging strategies.
