Partner Financial are working with a Leeds based organisation with a turnover in the £billions. Having recently engaged in several large-scale projects, they are looking to develop their finance function across the business and are seeking interim support within the Finance Function.

You will be responsible for overseeing the review of legal entity balance sheets, analysing legal entities by profit centre and providing transparency of statutory accounts to Finance Directors and auditors.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and implementation proper controls and systems to ensure maintenance of Balance Sheet and compliance with UK and IFRS accounting standards;
  • Reviewing legal entities with Finance Directors to ensure subsidiary ownership and comfort with numbers;
  • Acting as the primary contact between auditors and divisional finance directors in supporting the audits of legal entities;
  • Delivering statutory account process improvement, developing an improved transparent process;
  • Leading role and collating information and preparing presentations for management, Board and Group level reporting for entities;
  • Managing a team of Finance Analysts, identifying clear objectives for the team members;
  • Managing relationships with the offshore stat accounting production team;
  • Leading system improvement initiatives that have an impact on statuary accounting.

The ideal candidate:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)
  • Up to-date knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and experience preparing UK statutory accounts under IFRS 
  • Strong understanding of finance process, risks and controls
  • Strong knowledge and experience of General Ledger accounting, including balance sheet reconciliations
  • Proven ability to plan and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with senior members of the Group, divisional teams and auditors
  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple demands
  • Previous experience in managing and developing a team
