This is a great opportunity for a Finance Manager to join one of London's most recognisable and trusted retail brands in their market. About the role

Based at the Wembley head office, and reporting directly into the FD, this Finance Manager role is a vital component of the whole business, taking full responsibility of the day-to-day running of finance as a whole. As the role grows, it is expected that more responsibility will be taken, and in time push to replace the existing FD. This strengthening of the finance team also comes at a pivotal and exciting time, as the business has recently become part of a £multibillion turnover international group.

This recent change in ownership structure has a direct effect on the nature of this Finance Manager role; As well as managing the large finance team, with multiple direct reports, the successful individual will have the significant responsibility for the accuracy and delivery of first class financial reporting to group. The accuracy of this financial reporting will be achieved by continuous improvement of controls, processes, best practice and finance 'education' across all other departments. Whilst this role does encompass commercial finance and FP&A, the key deliverable will initially be on the financial reporting and transactional finance elements of the role.

Key responsibilities

  • All financial reporting (Incl. P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flow, process & efficiency improvements)
  • Commercial finance, planning & analysis and decision support for finance, operations and other non-finance functions
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts with accompanying commentary and variance analysis
  • Management and development of a large finance team (5+ direct reports)
  • Management of transactional finance including credit control
  • Drive simplification, standardisation and continuous improvement of processes and control
  • Review and challenge all aspects of the finance function's service performance


Person profile

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified (at least 2 years PQE)
  • Excellent and demonstrable experience within a financial reporting/controlling environment
  • Excellent and proven large team management skills
  • Excellent communication, prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Results driven and change-orientated
  • Track record of working closely with the leadership team, challenging accepted practice and managing multiple stakeholders
  • Experience of Microsoft Office and accounting software would be desired
