About the company:
This company are a subsidiary of one of the largest integrated energy and chemical companies in China. Primarily the core business involves trading Crude oil from West, North Africa, Mediterranean and FSU Regions as well as opimization of crude oil and oil products in the global market.
About this Accountant role:
This role is responsible for the financial accounting for the complex trading activities of the UK in accordance with the organization's accounting policies and all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities of this Accountant role:
- Day to day book keeping.
- Preparation of monthly financial report and local GAAP statutory accounts.
- Financial control including analytical review and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Annual and monthly financial analysis and budget.
- Financial analysis, including management analysis report to headquarter.
- Participate in IT integration project.
- Liaison with auditors and local tax advisors.
- Involvement in ad-hoc projects within Finance team.
Qualifications required:
- Solid knowledge of international/UK accounting principles and practices, especially Hedge accounting.
- Degree level education.
- Accounting professional qualification essential, full qualification preferred but part-qualified will be considered, e.g. ACCA or ACA.
Skills:
- Mandarin speaker preferred.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure at times at key times of the month.
- Ability to use professional judgment and common sense in problem solving and decision making for accounting issues.
- Must be a good team player.
Knowledge/Experience required:
- At least 5 years working experience in a similar accounting role.
- Knowledge of oil industry/trading environment is essential.
- Understanding/knowledge of finance best practices.
- Knowledge of SAP / ERP systems preferred and Microsoft packages, be able to process large amounts of data.
