Enable North Yorkshire – Can you help unlock our potential!

Head of Finance and Section 151 Officer

Remuneration – Competitive

There’s never been a better or more exciting time to join our Leadership team as we embed our major reform programme Transform 2020 and continue to make the region both safe and “feel safe”. Our vision and values of courage, compassion and inspiration are central to our success and our new Managing Director is leading ambitious plans to build on our success to date in order to maintain NYP as a sustainable organisation - adding public value and delivering common sense efficiencies for our neighbourhoods and district communities. We now have the opportunity to recruit a senior finance leader to drive, engage, deliver and communicate our vision and ambition to make a positive difference to our local communities and residents.

The organisation provides support for one of the largest policing community’s in the United Kingdom with a resident population of over 800,000 people with a diverse mix of rural and city. With a strong regional infrastructure, we are ambitious to focus on our commercial and partnership working with a growing technology and digital presence. We achieved the highest rated Force for public confidence last year and we’re proud of our achievements to date. We are now looking to further develop a modern and right first-time approach to all we do. As part of Enable North Yorkshire we are also working closely with North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

This role requires someone who can demonstrate strong commercial and financial acumen and support and build teams. A core aspect of continuing success will be our ability to collaborate and develop strong partnerships and secure the confidence of our broad stakeholder community. You will be the leading financial voice for our organisation, maximising our resources and opportunity as we mature. You will be able to show a real passion and affinity with our values coupled with strong technical and communication skills to translate an evidenced based approach to our vision and financial standing.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges we aspire to a workforce which reflects all our North Yorkshire communities. The role will be subject to full vetting procedures.
