Finance Director

Our client is a PE backed manufacturer and supplier of services via long term service contracts.  Having an enviable blue-chip client base the business is well positioned to grow rapidly and as part of this growth plan they are now looking to recruit a Finance Director who will act as a key strategic partner to the CEO.  This is a Board role and the successful candidate will be responsible for managing key stakeholder relationships including Banks, Investors and Auditors.

Primary Responsibilities

Leadership and mentoring of the Financial Controller and wider finance teams

Overall responsibility for the finance function

Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on and
analysis
of the Company’s financial performance

Management of the annual budgeting process

Management of the Group’s assets and stock

Management of the Group’s cash flows including ownership of
the 12 weekly cash forecasting process

Leading on annual audit processes and risk compliance

Ensuring compliance with relevant audit, tax and
regulatory requirements

Overall responsibility for procedures and controls over financial transactions and the Company’s assets

Ensuring compliance with investor covenants, and forecasting of headroom against future covenants

Continuous improvement of financial systems and processes to deliver as efficient and high-quality serviced

Provision of meaningful and accurate financial information to support and influence strategic decision making

Drive the approach to financial forecasting and increased profitability

Lead strategic finance projects as required by the Board

Understand and drive improvements in the accounting and finance systems

Work with in-house staff to maintain and enhance the IT systems management of the Finance team

Contribute to the development and deliver of the Group’s strategy across all business divisions and subsidiaries.

 
Qualifications

Qualified
Accountant
(ACA, CIMA, ACCA)

Skills & Experience

First-hand experience of working in a PE backed company

Experience of working in capital intensive, project-based businesses

Experience of working with blue chip customers

Ability to work at both a strategic and operational level

Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines

 
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Keen eye for detail

Experience of people management
