Head of Management Accounts & Financial Reporting

  
This is an exciting opportunity to join an international PE backed business in Warrington, that is on a fast upward trajectory and hence this is new role to support this period of growth and change in the business. This role is a pivotal role in the business, reporting to the Financial Controller and part of the Finance leadership team to support the existing reporting structure and help drive improvements in financial control.
This role will manage a team of management accountants and will be tasked with improving financial reporting,  accountability, driving business partnering, as well as leading financial development projects and assisting in embedding financial controls. The role will be an effective link between the wider finance team, the business and financial planning functions.
 
Key accountability's include:
• Management of our growing Management Accountants team to ensure that month end results are complete, accurate and timely.
• Production of the group management accounts, this includes ownership and accountability of the figures produced
• Ensuring team delivery of fully reconciled P&L and B/S
• Developing the Management Accounting function into a business partnering operation with strong relationships into the wider business functions
• Work across functions to improve data flows, business engagement and support financial planning
• Support the financial planning team through the production of ad hoc management information
• Continual development and evolution of finance processes and procedures to:
o Support business change and growth
o Implement and embed financial controls
o Implement key financial improvement projects
• Ownership of the Chart of Accounts, including functional analysis structures
• Ad hoc duties which often arise
  
You will need to be a qualified accountant with significant management accounts experience, as well as managing and developing a team. You will be competent in driving efficiencies and developing strong financial controls as well as an effective business partner.  You will be a hands on manager, who has involvement in projects and change management, with the ability to get into the detail and understand complex transactions. Experience in an international business, as well as Financial Services experience would be beneficial although certainly not essential.
