Maternity Cover, 9-12 month Contract
A Surrey Based charity is seeking a qualified Accountant to lead and manage their Financial Accounting function and Year-end process.
Responsibilities
Lead on the 2020-21 Year-end audit process and statutory account preparation, including preparation of audit schedules, workings and completing the audit file, and being the first point of contact for the external audit team.
You will liaise directly with the Finance Director during the account preparation. Prepare accounts in compliance with the Charity SORP and relevant GAAP.
Preparation of the annual cash flow forecast, and preparation of monthly reconciliations between forecast and actual.
- Ensure the Statements of Accounts are produced accurately and on time.
- Ensure that the Financial Reporting function is complying with statutory requirements and deadlines.
- Provide assurance that the councils operations are being conducted within the defined regulatory, statutory and professional standards.
- Lead the closing process.
- Manage the relationship with the external auditors.
- Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience.
The successful candidate will be required to have experience of working within a Charity within a similar position
