Our client is an award-winning travel company that has experienced rapid growth. This newly created leadership role will have responsibility for shaping and delivering the full spectrum of financial support. The individual will be a key driver in implementing and creating a first in class finance team, improved systems, business partnering and planning that support strategy. Reporting to the Group CFO and managing a large team, you will have end to end ownership of finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide business partnership support to the senior leadership team
- Understand the performance drivers across the group and challenge the risks & opportunities
- Own the preparation of robust business cases in liaison with relevant business MD’s and the Group CFO
- Manage the preparation of Board presentations.
- Ensure the strategy is properly articulated in conjunction with the senior management team
- Lead and manage the planning & budgeting process across the group
- Assist the Group CFO to challenge the strategy, 3-year plan and budget
- Maintain a robust financial control environment, ensuring that risks are adequately mitigated
- Take ownership of financial processing to deliver best in class service levels
- Management of transition of the finance team to business partners, focussing on making efficiencies and streamlining the reporting process.
- Continue to deliver continuous improvement in efficiency, quality and consistency of reporting
- Monitor and manage the Group’s liquidity position
- Ensure the group has clear cash flow targets, that optimise working capital
- Propose FX hedging levels for approval
- Oversee the annual audit process, tax and other regulatory reporting processes
- Support due diligence processes within the business
You will be:
- Experienced finance professional with a minimum of 8 years’ experience, have strong technical knowledge and good commercial experience
- Experience of leading a team and staff development
- Demonstrable ability to build strong, scalable systems
- Business partnering & strategic skills – ability to challenge and influence at senior levels
- Desire to dive into the detail when required
- Great flexibility and resilience with ability to adapt
- Strong modelling and excel skills
- Proactive in problem solving
- Ability to work under pressure and ensure deadlines are met
