This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a growing and highly successful Investment Management business. They invest in cool and modern start-ups and are now looking for someone ambitious, with a real passion for the sector to help in their growth. 

This is a very hands on role providing exposure to all elements of finance as well as the deal making side of the business. It will suit someone with a real attention to detail and great interpersonal skills. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain reporting models, including capital deployment, reserves and portfolio company valuations
  • Provide support in the production of materials needed for fund-raising, investor meetings
  • Work closely with fund administrators, including to draw down funds, return capital, produce Quarterly Reports, and deal with any ad-hoc queries and tasks.
  • Preparation of Quarterly Management Accounts
  • Preparation of Quarterly VAT returns 
  • Support fund auditors to produce annual accounts for funds and associated entities.
  • Managing the day to day relationship with banking and expense management providers
  • Work with compliance consultant to ensure that the organisation is fully compliant with FCA rules and regulations.
  • Assisting on the production of reports needed for tax compliance for all fund entities and investors across all relevant jurisdictions.

 Skills and Experience:

  • A strong academic record (ideally a 2.1 from a top University)
  • Professional Accounting Qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them forward independently.
  • Always looking to challenge existing processes and find ways to improve them.
  • Comfortable with getting out of your comfort zone.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, flexible and able to prioritize.
  • Positive, trustworthy, emotionally intelligent, aware of strengths and weaknesses.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, focusing on clarity and impact
  • Excellent ability with Excel, Keynote / PowerPoint and Word
  • Previous experience working in financial services.
  • Previous experience of working in the start-up environment, whether directly or indirectly.
