We are currently recruiting on behalf of an acquisitive International Group with an impressive track record of growth. This has led to the need to appoint a high-calibre finance professional into a newly created position, which will cover a mixture of responsibilities.
This role deals with all reporting, budget and forecasting and taxation matters, overseeing all activities and ensuring smooth execution thereof. This is an important role in the business and requires a natural leader who motivates, manages and controls the team for the purpose of developing efficiency and optimising performance.
Main Responsibilities
- Supervise, co-ordinate and be accountable for the activities of 4 direct reports across 4 businesses
- Manage departmental workload to meet department, group and UK operational requirements
- Ensure accounts are accurate, compliant and produced in a timely manner
- Review / oversee the production of monthly management accounts
- Review / prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports
- Lead the annual audit process, statutory accounts and corporation tax production
- Drive the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes and the agreement and reporting thereon of key performance indicators
- Responsible for bank relationships and tenders
- Formulation of cash flow projections
- Assist in business plan formulation and modelling thereof required
- Development, implementation and maintenance of systems in conjunction with IT, Group and outside software providers
- Responsible for training and development of the team ensuring personal development plans are in place to ensure achievement of departmental goals
Key in this role is the ability to actively seek out opportunities for process and systems improvements to drive efficiencies within the department. They must be adaptable and have demonstrable experience of idea formulation, change and process streamlining.
The role requires someone who is result orientated, highly organised, proactive, works collaboratively and inspires and gets the best from their team. They should also be diligent, accurate, have a good attention to detail and a flexible attitude towards working hours to fit round the department's busy periods
There is a need for a high degree of problem analysis and problem-solving skills, and the requirement to take full ownership for issues and take full accountability and see them through to resolution.
