Financial Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Accountant to support the growth of Derby based retail business. You will be reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, and providing financial reporting, planning and control support to the wider business.

Responsible for:

- Working within a finance team of 5 which is responsible for all Financial Control, Planning & Analysis, Budgeting and Tax.
- Supporting the delivery of all management accounting and month end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and audit support.
- Ensuring best practice for VAT reporting and compliance.
- Leading capex processes and control.
- Providing insight and analysis to site payroll costs and relative site efficiencies.
- Be a key contact for audit and tax work performed by professional advisors
- Supporting the Financial Controller on evaluating and measuring business strategy changes.

You will need to be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and have proven experience of financial control and management accounting. You will also be able to demonstrate a track record in a senior finance role, including taking individual ownership for process improvement and compliance. The ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a professional & effective manner is crucial. You will have a keen eye for detail and meeting tight deadlines will come naturally. You should be able to deal with change effectively and be fluid in your approach to processes and controls.
