Senior Accountant - 9 Month Fixed Term Contract

£28,000 to £35,000 to start October

What you'll need to succeed


This role is a stand alone role for a small engineering company, the role will be to service the finance for the company and someone who can support in other areas as an office manager may do. The payroll is outsourced as is the year end/audit accounting, you would need to do the prep work for year end but this would be dealt with by an external accountant- so would suit a good Book Keeper, management accounts, who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and helping in ad hoc work, whilst supporting the CEO.

• Daily input of transactions to accounting system
• Daily bank reconciliation
• Maintain accounting records and archives
• Maintain sales ledger and operate credit control
• Maintain purchase ledger and approved supplier list and make payments
• Check, input and pay employee expense claims and company credit card charges
• Input monthly employee timesheets
• Reconcile and submit quarterly VAT and ECSL returns
• Produce monthly management accounts
• Produce KPIs and reports for quarterly management meetings
• Produce annual and quarterly budgets and forecasts
• Produce monthly cash forecasts
• Maintain fixed asset register
