BIE are currently looking for an experience Head of Group Reporting to join a Multi-National Media business based in Central London.

Reporting in to the Group Financial Controller this is an opportunity for an ACA/CPA Qualified Accountant to join a changing business, head up the reporting team and gain exposure to the C-Suite.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading group consolidation for the International Business Units operating in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
    • Preparing the more complex/judgemental working papers
    • Significant daily interaction with senior and junior stakeholders at our US Parent, in and out of close cycles
    • Providing regular and timely Flash updates to UK and US management
    • Full compliance with all internal control/SOX deliverables
  • Supporting SEC 10-K, 10-Q and quarterly earnings releases, and supporting the clearance of regular questions from Investor Relations in the US
  • Overseeing preparation of UK and other necessary accounts, with all accounts across the Business Units being reviewed before Directors are provided these
  • Significant support on a daily basis for International CFOs and Group Controllers on a range of topics
  • Clearing items with group and local level external auditors
  • Technical US GAAP for the group on a regular basis including new accounting pronouncements
  • Collaborating with International CFOs to develop restructuring cases for senior management approval
  • Supporting corporate transactions e. acquisitions, disposals, investments, treasury-related
  • Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, actuals reporting, daily transactions and cost management for HQ corporate cost centre, and wider support of Group FP&A
  • Driving successful completion of key projects (and determining new projects)

Requirements:

  • A qualified accountant, ACA, CPA from a big-four background, with considerable post-qualified industry experience in a US listed multinational
  • Highly experienced in US Gaap, able to provide guidance in a timely manner to finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience in key topics such as Leasing (ASC 842) and Revenue (ASC 606) are highly desirable
  • Considerable internal control and SOX experience
  • Experienced in drafting/interpreting/applying technical accounting policies
  • Proven track record of successful contributions to and leadership of projects
  • Able to support senior stakeholders across multiple businesses on a range of topics from technical to commercial
  • Advanced Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (e. pivot tables, v-lookup, SumIFs, indirect formulas, nested IF/OR statements, Power Pivot)
  • Deep experience using IBM's Cognos Controller and TM1 tools to consolidate group accounts, or a similar tool
