A leading retail business in Central Sheffield have a vacancy for a Financial Controller to cover for a maternity leave for 9 months. The role of the Financial Controller is to manage the process of the production of monthly management accounts and support the Finance Director in their role.
Overview of the role;
- Production of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, and annual statutory financial statements
- Co-ordinating and preparing the budgeting and forecasting process
- Providing helpful and timely support to all internal customers
- Developing and embedding system improvements to drive efficiency of processing
- Maintaining internal financial controls and policies
- Supporting the group with compliance of tax
- Ensuring that the payroll is processed on time and is accurate
- Preparing and delivering Board reporting on time
- Leading, managing, and supervising circa 4 colleagues on a day to day basis within management accounts and 2 colleagues in payroll, ensuring financial processes are run smoothly and maintained
- Use expert knowledge of accounting best practice, company policy procedures to determine appropriate solutions to issues raised and also provide decision support
Overview of expectations;
- Qualified accountant with a number of years post qualified in a similar role.
- Detailed knowledge of accounting best practice and accounting policies and procedures
- An overall understanding of the business strategy and the requirements and objectives of other departments within that strategy.
