Retail Finance Analyst - Cash

Investigo are delighted to be partnering with the Finance team at Drax, the FTSE Energy Company. Their retail division, Drax Customers, is going through an exciting period of change and transformation. We are working with Drax Customers to create a high-performing finance team based in their modern Northampton office.
The purpose of this position is to support the management and reporting of all aspects of finance related to cash including monthly cash flow reporting and forecasting; debtors and cash collection management including collection metrics and bad debt provision calculation; bank reconciliation; payments and spend analysis.
Provide insight and advice to senior management (finance and non-finance) on cash management, in particular in relation to cash collection and debt management.
Key Accountabilities:
- Preparation of monthly cash flow and bank reconciliation.
- Preparation of monthly cash forecast
- Understanding and explanation of cash flow variance to budgets and forecast
- Preparation and maintenance of cash flow forecast models short and long term
- Debtor and cash collection KPI ownership and reporting
- Bad and doubtful debt provision calculation including compliance with IFRS
- Explanation and interpretation of debt and provision movements to management
- Advice and guidance on cash collection strategies
- Support internal and external audit investigations as required.
- Liaise with Group Treasury to improve forecasting accuracy and insight; implement systems as necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience of cash management and collections in the energy or similar sector an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills. Able to build close working relationships quickly
- Knowledge of, and exposure to cash forecasting systems would be an advantage
- Self-starter with high levels of motivation and ambition
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and identify key issues
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, apt at simplifying complexity
- Excellent/ advanced IT skills in relation to Microsoft package use
