Assistant Accountant
My client, a Manufacturing business is looking for an immediately available Assistant Accountant for their team of 6 in Finance. The business has seen steady growth in the past 12 months are now looking for an ambitious assistant accountant to join them on a temp to perm basis. You will be reporting into the Finance manager and you'll be involved with all month end reporting, maintain accurate P&L and Balance sheet reconciliations. The ideal person will be immediately available and has at least 2 years experience in a similar role.
Assistant Accountant Duties:
Engage with and provide business support to cross functional teams to help build, implement and continuously improve systems and processes. Help develop and maintain effective financial and management reporting routines and processes that ensure the UK business and departmental management are provided with accurate, relevant and timely business information, mainly in respect of:
• Inventory Management (including cut off, valuation, stock cover and stock obsolescence
• Raw material usage and associated costs (including batch control and recipe accuracy)
• Production performance reporting (including waste reporting, labour costs etc)
• Supply chain performance reporting
• Activity based cost analysis (for use in profitability reporting)
Provide UK transactional and accounting services ensuring effective completion of the close process and preparation of reporting. Maintain accurate P&L, balance sheet and cashflow information, to facilitate internal, external and statutory audit activities and to ensure tax compliance in line with local legislation. Main responsibilities include:
• Weekly and monthly report preparation and circulation
• Preparation and analysis of weekly accounts and reporting pack for UK sites (including weekly batch closure, alias transaction reporting etc)
• Month end batch closure and accounting routines
• Weekly and monthly stock reconciliations
• Completion of monthly inter-company reconciliations
Assistant Accountant Requirements:
• Previous experience within a similar role
• Manufacturing experience but not essential
• Oracle system but not essential
