I am currently handling an excellent opportunity for a qualified Senior Management Accountant / Finance Manager to develop their career within a highly reputable and successful SME business in the North Lancashire area. Following a recent acquisition, our client is looking to restructure their accounts department to help facilitate their ambitious growth plans moving forward.
Key responsibilities;
- Prepare and manage the delivery of timely and accurate Management Information (MI) - primarily although not exclusively, the month-end management accounts and Board packs
- Liaise with group on month-end queries
- Support the Finance Director with the preparation of the annual budget and monthly rolling forecasts
- Support the Finance Director (group) with the preparation of year end schedules for the group statutory accounts
- Prepare weekly bank reconciliations, fortnightly 13-week cash flows and monthly flash results and WIP calculations
- Manage day-to-day cash flow, debtors and creditors and be primary contact with the Bank for online banking transactions
- Assist the Finance Director with devising insightful KPI measures through which the business controls and manages cash management and underlying financial performance of the business
- Contribute to a continuous improvement approach to controls and systems, ensuring that financial systems (currently Sage line 50 accounts) are robust, effective and appropriate for growth and change in the business
- Manage a small Finance team
- Develop productive relationships across the business in order to promote financial awareness
- Responsibility for all VAT, PAYE/NIC and CIS taxation matters across the business
- Support the Finance Director (group) with year-end tax analysis schedules
- Preparation of VAT schedules for group VAT, and ongoing contact with HMRC on all company taxation matters
- Manage weekly and monthly payroll reporting (including HMRC queries and submissions) by liaising with our outsourced payroll bureau providers
- Prepare any other project or ad hoc financial reporting requested by the Board
- Prepare business case reporting for (e.) capex programmes
- Prepare and issue CIS Certificates, when required
- Liaise with external auditors and other third party legal and professional advisors (e. banks, insurers) as required by the Finance Director

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA Accountant, ideally with a strong technical background in financial and management accounting. Candidates from a construction or manufacturing industry will be of particular interest however, this is not essential.
