Financial Accountant

Elevation Accountancy & Finance is currently looking to recruit a Financial Accountant on behalf of a major organisation in York.

You will be responsible for producing monthly primary financial statements including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and related board report sections in line with Group and accounting standards, you will manage the financial internal control environment and prepare budgets & forecast for the primary financial statements and fixed costs.

Key Responsibilities will include:

-Maintenance of general ledgers
-Reporting of financial accounting information as requested
-Manage the month-end process and timescales
-GL/balance sheet reconciliations - review, sign off and follow up on a monthly basis and any discrepancies investigated and resolved
-Review of VAT returns/Intrastat/NSO returns
-Provision of monthly, quarterly and annual statutory information to parent company
-Tax packs to parent company
-Cash flow management and forecasting
-Management of fixed assets, verification and control
-Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts under IFRS and the external audit
-Comply with internal and external financial policies, standards and controls, whilst understanding the impact of own role on other areas
-Work with the business to drive, improve and enhance controls, documentation and the control framework
