SF recruitment are currently working with a market leading business within the education sector based in Nottingham who have tasked us to recruit a Senior Finance Manager.
To apply for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate a clear background in the education sector.
The role will act as a key support to our Head of Finance, by supporting with management of the organisation’s balance sheet, general ledger management and consolidations, the Trust wide bank account management, and supporting other Finance Manager.
You will be looking after multiple sites within the business therefore experience in this field is advantageous.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and monitor the annual school budget in consultation with the Academy’s senior team.
- Liaising with Governors and the Academy’s Senior Leadership team
- Apportionment of all annual budgets fir the coming year
- Providing the school management team with a finance and budget information as required
- Operating the schools financial procedures in accordance with the guidelines, financial regulations, Academy and trust policy and practice
- Management of key ledgers to the trust and central accounts
- Supporting head of Finance with reconciliations and preparations of the Trust wide management accounts pack
- Supporting colleague in the delivery of their work and management accounts
Experience Essentials:
- You must have experience working in an academy, school, university to apply for this role. Ideally as a Financial Manager.
- Appropriate financial qualification – AAT equivalent
- Previous experience of financial procedures
- Experience and ability to work with a degree of autonomy within agreed boundaries
- Ability to deal with suppliers on the phone
- Good working knowledge and experience of using ICT; Word, Excel and relevant software
- An understanding of child protection, Health & Safety and Data Protection policies
- Working with both financial and non-financial people within the organisation, with the ability to extract and explain financial information.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly to meet deadlines and respond to unplanned situations
