Group Finance Manager

Company:

The business is a fast paced market leader within their field and have a group turnover of around £80-£100m. The business is listed and are relocating their group finance function to Sheffield. The business works across multiple sectors including banking, oil & gas, transport & a number of other sectors.

The business is completely unique in its market and are an extremely ambitious group targeting significant growth in the near future who are looking to appoint a Group Finance Manager to their team. They have a state of the art office with a fantastic culture on top and are at the forefront of their market.

Job Purpose:

• Provide financial and management reporting activities across the Group and ensure they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice.
• Provide support in relation to the Group's Treasury and Tax activities, including being key contact for the bank and tax advisors.
• Provide support to divisional finance teams as required.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparation of consolidated monthly, quarterly and other periodic management accounts, and other reports, for the Group Executive Team and plc Board.
• Develop reporting to collect and report more relevant and timely information.
• Review consolidated cash flow forecasts for the Group.
• Preparation of the consolidated half year Interim Report and full year Annual Report and Accounts.
• Preparation of statutory accounts for the Group's subsidiary companies.
• Preparation of information to be used in reports and presentations to the City and to other stakeholders.
• Preparation of information requests from the Office of National Statistics.
• Understand the impacts of new accounting standards on the Group and roll out appropriately.
• Attend technical courses and provide support and guidance to the Group's subsidiary Finance Directors and Controllers.
• Provide technical accounting updates to the Group's finance staff.

Treasury Operations

• Act as key contact and manage the relationship with the Group's transactional banking contacts to ensure the smooth running of the Group's treasury operations.
• Oversee the Group's banking facilities, including on-line banking systems, credit cards
• Manage and administer the Group's requirements for bonds and guarantees.
• Manage foreign currency cash flows and hedging across the Group.
• Monitor and manage the Group's cash position to ensure working capital requirements can be met.
• Provide information to tax advisors for the preparation of corporation tax computations and returns for all Group statutory entities.
• Prepare tax provisioning calculations for statutory accounts.
• Manage corporation tax payments across the Group.
• Liaise with HMRC in relation to tax correspondence and investigations.
• Manage the process of iXBRL tagging
• Deputise for the Group Financial Controller in their absence.
• General support for Group Financial Controller and wider Head Office team as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A fully qualified ACA with excellent technical skills, including good knowledge of IFRS and recent developments
• Experience of Group consolidations required
• Good IT skills and aptitude (MS Office and Cognos (TM1) are used extensively)
• Recent and relevant experience in financial reporting in a listed company environment would be beneficial
