Site Accountant

Pratap Partnership is delighted to be working with a leading manufacturing business in the Leeds area. A hugely profitable business that has really turned itself around is looking for a Site/operational accountant to be based from their Leeds site. This is a job that combines fairly mainstream back office accounting along with a real strong emphasis on the commercials and cost accounting and really getting to grips with the business .

The accounting itself is fairly basic and simple, this role would really look after all the back office accounting

• Payroll
• Purchase ledger
• Making sure all the books are up to date and accounts are on time and accurate
• VAT returns
• Management accounts 

Working directly for the Group MD he envisages this accounting to take up about half your time with the other half spent looking at the profitability and the costs of the business . Have we made profit this month, how? Have we lost money , why?

You will be boots on the ground and want to be into the details of  every area of the business., finding out what areas they are losing and making money, understanding what every invoice relates to and what every area of the business does, why certain things are being done the way they are and what they can do to change and improve for future business growth.

You will be the type of person who wants to know the nuts of the bolts of a business, roll their sleeves up and get stuck in to the business detail, getting to know the people , how they work and how the work they do impacts the business.

It is a brilliant business to part of and a very interesting and exciting new role. Manufacturing and costings experience preferable
