The Role

A superb career opportunity for a high-quality professional accountant with a background in manufacturing, to join an award winning, privately-owned SME business as a Financial Controller based in Oxford.

With over 30 years' trading history, this company is the leading manufacturer of an innovative range of site safety solutions, utilising expertise in plastic moulding technologies across composites, injection and compression moulding processes.

Key Responsibilities

The business has a very strong balance sheet, is profitable and has a significant growth agenda.

Providing support to the Finance Director in delivering growth strategy, the Financial Controller responsibilities will include:

• Working closely as part of an experienced team
• Being involved in a mix of financial management, planning and controls
• Providing commercial analysis to support and improve profitability
• Improving and implementing systems and procedures in order to support the group structure
• To be a key stakeholder in building a robust finance team - so that planned growth in the UK and internationally can be successfully managed

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate for this Financial Controller will:

• Be a qualified Chartered or Management Accountant (ACA or ACMA)
• Have post qualification experience in a manufacturing environment, including international accounting and consolidation experience
• Need to have strong experience in ERP and excellent IT skills
• Be a highly impressive individual who is comfortable working in an ambitious, successful SME such as this is
• Need a strong combination of technical accounting skills and a hands-on can-do mentality
• Enjoy the diverse range of challenges this Financial Controller role offers, be highly numerate, with a strong attention to detail, be a team player and bring a positive can-do approach.
