Head of Tax, Property Developer

A growing London property developer with an excellent reputation within the sector, delivering a diverse range of projects, is currently looking for a tax accountant to support the wider finance team, Finance Director and projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate and own on time submission of all tax returns and payments, including VAT, CIS, Corporation Tax, P11D’s etc.
• Own implementation and ongoing compliance to Domestic Reverse Charge, including:
• Liaison with suppliers and customers regarding impact and necessary declarations
• Ensure accuracy and manage risk of main contractor responsibility for correct VAT treatment
• Ensure decisions to opt to tax land have been fully assessed, recorded and submitted to HMRC in a timely manner
• Coordinate assessment of Stamp Duty Land Tax on land acquisitions
• Support Development teams and coordinate liaison with external tax advisors
• Capture, analyse and report of PAYE settlement agreement costs
• Collation of stock plots and completed properties for rent or sale
• Ensure information is suitable for insurance and tax reporting
• Being point of contact for any queries from HMRC and acting as lead on HMRC audits
• Ensure compliance to new MTD requirements
• Other ad hoc duties
