Accountant - Private Office

The Role

My client is seeking to recruit an organized and experienced Accountant to cover maternity leave. The Accountant will be required to assist with the management of the Founder and SIO's financial affairs, covering his interest in the business, his pension funds, trusts and personal assets, as well as the financial aspects of his philanthropic interests.

Responsibilities

This role will involve leading on some of the following tasks and assisting with others:

  • Assisting on developing and maintaining cash flows and budgets following collation of information from personnel responsible for various entities within the family office structure
  • Assisting with the overseeing and monitoring the records of personal financial investments
  • Providing information for various reporting for the family office e. tax returns
  • Various forms required for legislative banking requirements
  • Assisting with tax matters and associated planning processes
  • Managing financial documentation received and providing the information to both internal and external relevant parties
  • Working closely with Executive Assistant to arrange payments and transfers following approval
  • Managing/assisting with preparation of accounts for enterprises such as aviation;
  • Assisting with the preparation of ad hoc financial reports based on specific requests for information and senior management team
  • Assisting family members with respect to financial and other matters
  • Dealing with ad hoc projects and queries

Skills & Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in a wide range of accountancy areas, in addition to the following attributes:

  • Strong technical experience with a strong commercial outlook
  • A proactive approach and good long-term vision
  • Strong planning, time and task management skills
  • An adaptable approach and confidence in dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • A flexible and confident attitude towards problem solving and dealing with ad hoc issues
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office systems, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Experience within either a personal tax department or family office is highly desirable
