Our client is a high growth, private-equity backed SaaS business and they are now looking to recruit a CFO who will act as a key strategic partner to the CEO.  The business is well positioned to grow both organically and via acquisition and a key part of the incoming CFO’s role will be to prepare the business for exit.

Main tasks include

  • Readying the Group for a sale and taking a key leadership role in that exit process including involvement in the preparation of sale materials, presentation to potential buyers, review of legal documentation and all other aspects of the process;
  • Working with the Board as a peer as well as across the broader business as a motivator, facilitator and driver for financial performance with an emphasis on both profit and cash;
  • Taking a key role in any further acquisition processes;
  • Managing the working capital of the business;
  • Maximising sales and margin opportunities;
  • Ensuring production of budgets /forecasts in the required timescales;
  • Ensuring maintenance of reporting systems including trend analysis and financial modelling;
  • Ensuring the provision of timely, accurate and relevant information to fully support the business;
  • Ensuring appropriate credit control and treasury policies are in place;
  • Responsibility for the effective management of stakeholder relationships including Investors and Bank;
  • Ensuring suitable and robust financial controls are maintained across the company;
  • Lead and control the annual audit process;
  • Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Profile and Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent);
  • Previous experience of working in a software / SaaS business;
  • Substantial previous experience of working in an exit driven environment with PE/PE style investors;
  • Previous experience of preparing for sale/selling a business;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Hands on, flexible, team player comfortable working across a business at all levels;
  • Commercially astute, strong leader, good under pressure;   
  • Dynamic and driven.
