Badenoch + Clark are currently working with an instantly recognisable organisation based in the Crawley / Gatwick area to recruit a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Financial Reporting Manager you will have responsibility for the external reporting of the group.
This role is a fantastic first move for someone looking to move from practice into industry and will offer the chance to handle all the quarterly, half and year end accounting duties along with having responsibility for working with commercial teams on contracts and how to apply financial standards to these (IFRS).
Key responsibilities will include:
*Responsible for external reporting, including ownership of the annual and half year reporting process as well as leading the reporting to regulatory bodies and associated stakeholders.
*Management of the external audit process, including challenging the external auditors where required to optimise the business outcome whilst remaining compliant with accounting and auditing standards.
*Responsible for the preparation of monthly consolidated accounts before reporting to shareholders.
*Providing the business with support for commercial decisions, ensuring contracts are correctly accounted for.
*Advising the business on the technical accounting and reporting implications of business decisions.
Key skills / experience:
*Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
*Ideally practice trained from a top 10 firm but working of knowledge of IFRS is essential
*Strong communication / presentation skills
*Ability to build relationships internally and with external advisors (auditors / tax advisors)
