Financial Controller

The role of Financial Controller is to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Provide financial advice and support to enable the Company to make sound business decisions.

Description

Main duties and responsibilities of the Financial Controller:

• Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure, assist the Financial Director in their duties.
• Production of monthly management accounts
• Collation and analysis of spend as part of job costing
• Maintain records and support auditing efforts
• Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are performed on a monthly basis
• Reviewing monthly overhead reports and investigating variances
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly and annual close down
• Ensure banking requirements and reconciliation are completed
• Bank Reconciliations
• VAT returns
• Cash flow and forecasts
• Support the commercial team on cash management and collation for cashflow
• Respond to enquiries from the Financial Director or Managing Director regarding financial results, special reporting requests etc
• Preparation and collation of year end journals and reconciliations to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit
• Supervise nominated staff to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met and are accurate and compliant
• Undertake all required line management duties for the Purchase Ledger team.
• Support Financial Director with special projects and workflow process improvements

Profile

The successful Financial Controller will have significant experience of managing a team and producing month end accounts.

Job Offer

This is a Fixed Term Contract paying £45000 - £55000.
