Senior Commercial Accountant

Our client is a market leading business based close to Watford that are looking to recruit a Senior Commercial Accountant for a pivotal role in one of their largest divisions.

The role of Senior Commercial Accountant will support operations in providing expert financial knowledge and advice to the division and ensure best practice is in place. You will act as the Finance Business Partner to a number of Operations and Commercial Directors, driving commercial decision making and improve best practice within the long term contracts.

Responsibilities will include:-

• Production / review of monthly management accounts for key business contracts across the division,
• In conjunction with other Senior Commercial Accountants to ensure month end deadlines are met across the division
• Ensure the accounts are in accordance with agreements and look to improve commercial decision making
• Assist the Finance Business Partners in the quarterly forecasting process to the point of preparing the forecast numbers ready for review.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with contract site based teams and develop strong internal / external relationships with - project accountants, operations managers and commercial managers.

The business are seeking a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent with a background in commercial accounting, FP&A or project accounting. You will be required to have a pro-active stance on driving business partnering, a strong working knowledge of excel and ideally experience of working with joint ventures or long term contracts.
