This is an exciting, career-defining opportunity to join a £100m+ t/o UK manufacturer who are part of a globally recognised US super-brand. Operating as the No 2 in Finance and based in impressive offices on the outskirts of Liverpool this is a new role created to meet increased finance team workload/business demand - as the business has doubled in size over the last 12 months - to take responsibility for management of the finance team and to take on some of the Financial Controllers remit as he steps up to focus on more strategic & operational areas. Operating in a highly visible, high profile role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Day to day management of the finance team - a direct team of 5 and an additional indirect team of 4
  • Co-ordination of the completion of annual & quarterly forecasts and subsequent reforecasts
  • Ensuring the finance team delivers timely and accurate month end financial/management accounts
  • Month End Consolidation
  • Group Reporting
  • Preparation of the MI Pack including sales variance reports and working capital overview
  • Presentation and explanation of results to senior management and to the board
  • Business Partnering with senior management teams across Production Manager, Commercial, Operations and Purchasing
  • Annual Budget preparation
  • Ensuring effective control of key manufacturing business drivers including scrap, efficiency, yield and head count
  • Ensuring modern and effective financial controls, processes and procedures
  • Project Support
  • Case study approval
  • Financial modelling
  • Supporting System development and utilisation

Applicants will be fully qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA professionals and will have previously operated in a supervisory finance role at Senior MA/FA or Asst FC/FC level. Manufacturing knowledge/experience is essential and applicants who have worked for a fast paced UK division of a global manufacturer will be of particular interest. You will have strong leadership skills and the commercial acumen, gravitas and personality essential to forge strong business partner relationships with non-finance senior management and operations teams. You will also have prior experience of dealing with change management (Leadership & Continuous Improvement both in Finance & Operations). Good MS Excel skills are essential and knowledge of SAP would be advantageous. A competitive salary, £60-65k, is complemented with benefits including Company Bonus, 25 days holiday, 4% Pension, Parking and a Friday Lunchtime finish.
