This manufacturing and engineering business is a market leading supplier to customers in a range of industrial sectors. Part of a global group they have recently received significant recent investment on the site and now have the capability to research and develop innovative new products and solutions for their customers. Confidence is therefore high for continued expansion so this is an exciting time for a commercial Project Accountant to join the business and support the Financial Controller in the accurate reporting and analysis of revenue and costs on all projects. This role will also play a key part in supporting an ERP system upgrade and will therefore carry come responsibility for data accuracy, replication and mapping of new processes onto Dynamics. The main duties of this Project Accountant role will be:
- Forecasting and revenue recognition analysis
- Variance analysis and WIP reporting
- Reviewing project profitability, monitoring costs and KPI’s
- Project month end reporting and financial closure
- Commercial support on bide/tenders, project maintenance and closing negotiations
- Financial reporting and submissions to group
- Inventory monitoring , labour and factory overhead cost analysis
- Maintenance of standard costing system
This high profile position requires an impressive, commercially savvy candidate able to work cross functionally between departments and really get to the heart of sales revenue and forecasting. You will attend monthly review meetings to manage costs against KPI's, discuss and challenge cost over-runs, forecast the business outlook, monitoring cash and working capital in line with budgets and the strategic plan. Working with and supporting sales and project managers to provide commercial analysis and insight you should be comfortable processing large amounts of data in Excel and other tools / ERP systems. Able to confidently present the outcome of your analysis and make recommendations. The ideal candidate would be a strong management accountant / commercial analyst with experience from a project or contract based business, preferably part or fully qualified.
