Role Objective
We have an opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our team at our Chiswick office. This role is to produce good quality financial information, contribute in maintaining a controlled environment through providing schedules, reconciliations and investigation of unusual balances.
The role will suit someone with previous experience in an accounting practice or an individual with concrete exposure in producing statutory accounts and the drive to support the overall finance function.
Job Description:
- Key responsibility is to ensure the company statutory accounts and tax filings are done within specified deadlines
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliation with explanation on material movements
- Prepare, review and submit all VAT, Intrastat, statutory and statistical returns
- Produce monthly consolidated group accounts and the year-end financial statements
- Raise quarterly intercompany recharge invoices and reconcile the group intercompany balance sheet
- Ensure all month-end postings are made accurately, promptly and to schedule
- Provide cover to the Management Accountant on monthly tasks which includes payroll, monthly billing and supplier payments
- Ensure accuracy of project level revenue recognition and monthly deferred/accrued revenue journals
- Support the monthly and quarterly management reporting circle including non-financial reports
- Manage cash levels, payment run recommendations and quarterly bank reporting
- Bi-weekly cash flow forecast production
- Support the preparation of the group budget and financial forecasts
- Support the wider finance function to ensure accuracy of the accounts and a good control environment
- Build a good working relationship with teams outside of finance to support their local needs
- General support during the year end audit regarding sample and control testing
- Provide ad-hoc finance project support, as required
Candidate Requirements:
- Part/fully or newly qualified ACCA/ACA/ CIMA is desired but qualified by experience will be considered
- Up to date IFRS and local GAAP standard knowledge will be an advantage
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience of using QuickBooks on-line is desired but not essential
- High level of integrity and accuracy
- Experience in working with multicurrency transactions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience in posting judgement-based journals
- Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise
- Ability to work as part of a team and to build strong working relationships
