Head of Finance

As a direct result of significant organic growth, Heyland Finance are exclusively partnering with our client, an SME Manufacturing business in the Manchester area as they look to appoint an experienced Head Of Finance to facilitate their success and further expansion plans.


Working closely with the Managing Director & Senior Leadership team, you will ensure the continued success of the company, providing financial direction, commercial advice and support to the Board of Directors.


You will be responsible for providing all financial reporting, including full analysis of the Company's financial performance with a view to increasing the Group's overall profitability.


Key Requirements:

• Board level finance experience within the engineering/manufacturing industry
• Full professional accountancy qualification (ACA / CIMA / ACCA)
• Experience in financial strategy, planning and budget management
• Experience streamlining department structures & processes, reducing overheads
• Overseeing the finance team to supervise financial assistants and other employees in the facilitation of day-to-day operations, including tracking financial data, invoicing, purchasing
• Provide an analytical and detailed approach to business reporting
• Continuous drive to improve reporting, processes and systems
• Provide an annual strategic planning and budgeting process across all departments
• Analyse the financial climate and market trends to assist Directors in creating strategic plans for the future
• Monitor cash flow and other financial transactions
• Oversee preparation of payroll and consider bringing this in-house
• Prepare financial reports on a monthly and annual basis
• Seek out methods and practices to minimise financial risk
• Create and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, including banking institutions and accountants
• Implement financial policies and procedures
• Lead strategic finance projects as required by the Board

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, fully qualified Financial Controller/Head Of Finance with a proven track record of facilitating high growth and implementing robust processes and procedures within a small growing SME business. You will be a strong leader with the ability to influence senior management and drive through business change. This role would suit either an experienced Financial Controller who is ready to move into their first Finance Director role or, an experienced finance professional looking for an exciting project.
