9 Month Maternity Cover for a Finance Manager based in Solihull for a SME services company.

Your new company
Hays are delighted to be working with an innovative and rapidly growing technology business based near Birmingham Airport with excellent access from the M6 or M42. The company work with some of the largest organisations globally and offer a bespoke service. The company are a global provider and since their inception have experienced growth of over 30% year on year.

Your new role
The company are looking for a Finance Manager to cover a 9 month maternity cover starting in the middle of October 2019. You will lead a small finance team of 3 and report into the CFO. You will also oversee the entities in the USA and Australia.
This is a wide and varied role. You will be willing to get involved in a number of areas of finance from the production of monthly accounts to bank reconciliations and the processing and correct allocation of project invoices whilst being involved in the production of quality information to support business decision making and other projects.

The key responsibilities of the role include:
* Preparation of accounts to TB for UK operation and the recently established USA and Australian operations including accruals, prepayments and other balance sheet reconciliations.
* Ensuring that purchase invoices are correctly processed, approved, and allocated to the correct projects
* Performing bank reconciliations on all bank accounts
* Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and ensuring a high level of compliance with VAT legislation
* Proving support where required for other day to day tasks
* Assisting the CFO in developing cost control systems including production of financial information for key management team members
* Assisting the CFO in the review of finance policies and procedures, introducing changes where necessary
* Assisting in the production of information for the auditors and year end tax returns.

What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally be available immediately or on short notice and be happy to commit for an initial 9 month period. You will be either Qualified or Qualified by Experience with a proven track record of working in a hands on SME finance function. A knowledge of Sage would also be beneficial.
