About The Role
As Projects And Revenue Accountant, you'll be heavily involved in month end revenue recognition calculations and you'll work with delivery teams to agree KPIs and reporting progress on these to delivery teams. The role will also have responsibility for identifying trends, suggesting correcting and improving actions, measuring impact and course adjusting accordingly. You will help project teams identify scope changes and revenue impacts, improving costing and pricing approaches.
You will seek improvements to working capital (quicker, easier invoicing and cash collection), projecting projects to completion, forward forecasts and impacts for staff and resource levels. Finally, this Accountant role will involve coaching and knowledge sharing with staff to develop financial knowledge and client negotiation.
To succeed in the Projects And Revenue Accountant role, you'll need proven experience of working in a professional services environment (where the revenue generation is driven by staff and associates time inputs). You must have accounting knowledge regarding revenue recognition (but you do not need to be a fully qualified accountant). Experience of working with project data in operational systems and accounting systems is key.
You must have very effective excel skills and the ability to provide project critical financial insight to the project team and wider stakeholders. With proven analytical skills, you'll have the ability to communicate sometimes complicated financial information in a clear and insightful way. Your stakeholder management skills must be well developed, as must your coaching skills and the ability to help and develop others. Where appropriate, the ability to challenge, provide a fresh perspective, and influence others is really important for this Accountant role as well.
