A fantastic opportunity to provide effective financial advice to your senior stakeholders and drive continuous process improvement across the City & Guilds Group.

About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the City & Guilds Group Finance Team.  As Finance Business Partner, you will support numerous departments across the Support Services function, all of which support the organisation to achieve its purpose – to enable people, organisations and economies to develop their skills for growth.

You will work directly with Board Members and Heads of Function to help construct detailed budgets, forecasts, investment appraisals and provide insightful analysis and advice along the way. You’ll also support in bringing together the total Support Service financial picture. You’ll be embedded within our Finance team and able to develop your skills across a huge range of Finance activities, by contributing to year-end audits, technical accounting issues and tax procedures.

About You

We are looking for a dynamic individual who can create strong and trustworthy relationships, who sees problems and challenges to overcome and is happy to ‘get stuck in’ when required. We want someone to come in and make a real impact so if you are a hard-working, passionate and ambitious individual with a positive can-do attitude, we want to hear from you!

We need an excellent multi-tasker who is a natural in building rapport with key stakeholders. You will have expert face-to-face and written communication skills. Even though you will be working in an open and friendly team, you will need to be able to work independently, whilst prioritising workloads to meet tight deadlines with impeccable accuracy. Supporting the Senior Business Partner with the Support Service financials you will be expected to assist with the process and fully own systems inputs – hitting every deadline and deliverable with excellent quality and insight throughout. By working with a range of non-finance team members across all levels, you’ll be able to translate complicated accounting or financial concepts into easy to understand terms and avoiding all unnecessary jargon!

Your advice will be based on sound accounting principles, and leverage your numerical abilities too

You’ll be numerically savvy, with a sound understanding of accounting principles and experience of working with accounting and finance systems (we currently use SAP and are in the process of updating our Planning tool). You’ll also be able to build a range of logical and coherent financial models in Excel to easily solve any queries which come your way.
