Your new firm
A reputable and well established independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Stockport are currently seeking a Portfolio Manager to join the firm in the role of a partners assistant. This job opportunity has arisen following succession planning within the firm to allow for the successful handover of a portfolio of clients.
Your new role
As a Portfolio Manager you will be responsible for working closely with one of the partners and aid in the management of a portfolio of sole traders, partnerships, charities and limited companies. You will be involved in the review of statutory accounts, tax planning, conducting client meetings and from time to time some hands on accounting work. There is a senior manager within the firm who takes responsibility for staff and work flow management therefore you will be focused towards servicing your portfolio.
Over time there is the opportunity of partnership for the right applicant.
What you'll need to succeed
The firm are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) who has prior experience of managing a portfolio of clients. You must be able to demonstrate strong technical knowledge across all areas of general practice, excellent organisational skills and the ability to develop strong client relationships offering advisory services to your client portfolio.
