Assistant Accountant
Based in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, MRK Associates is exclusively representing a client we have a long-standing relationship with. We have recruited everyone in finance over the past 5 years and they have a friendly, open and social environment and the business has grown from £3m-£15m in recent years.
We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a temporary basis and look after everything up to trial balance for a smaller division within the Group.
This job would suit an experience all-rounder who is comfortable working in an SME environment, looking after the accounting processes from start to finish. The job will also involve communicating with internal and external departments and assisting, when necessary, with other departments within finance and administration.
This company is a market leader within their field, and they have recently entered the international market. The business has grown rapidly and has exciting expansion plans.
The successful individual will ideally be AAT qualified and have a good understanding of accounting processes, procedures and month end deadlines. The candidate should have effective communication and organisational skills with the ability to achieve targets whilst maintaining accuracy. This is suited for an individual with analytical and problem solving skills as well as intermediate Excel skills.
Duties will include:
- Manage the monthly prepayments and accruals, monthly account reconciliation and monthly cost reporting
- Daily banking and monthly bank reconciliations
- Looking after the weekly cash flow forecasting
- Solely responsible for the purchase ledger function
- Daily control and ownership of the finance inbox
- Sales Ledger function
- Work closely with sales to ensure tight credit control
