Accountant client is an Accountancy Practice which has grown significantly over the last five years and is set to grow further. As part of this development, it is now expanding its team to include another Accountant, based at its Head Office in Leicester.

Clients range from owner managed businesses to large companies and this role will form part of a large team servicing a broad range of diverse businesses, working both on site and in the office.

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

Planning, analysing and preparing working schedules for financial statements for assigned clients to ensure they meet their statutory objectives
Accurately preparing management information and VAT returns and within specified timelines for allocated clients
Participating in client meetings, as necessary, to ensure that the client is fully informed and understands all of the information produced on their behalf
Actively contributing to the development of the team in order to assist the growth and success of the department and its other members
Acting as a second contact for a portfolio of clients, to include supporting the first contact to schedule and arrange the assignments within the work planner and maintain IRIS Practice Manager
Ensuring all necessary training is undertaken to keep up to date with sector knowledge, developments, software packages and legislative updates, as required
Carrying out all tasks in accordance with the firm's internal standards, within specified time limits and within budget

The successful candidate will be suitably qualified (either part/full AAT or by qualified by experience and possess at least 4-5 years experience gained in a firm of Accountants).

Experience preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Experience of Management Accounts.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work to strict deadlines with exemplary attention to detail
Fully computer literate (experience of IRIS, Quickbooks, Sage 50, Xero and Docusign would be advantageous but is not essential - training can be provided)
Ability to work well under pressure and a drive to succeed
Able to work on their own initiative or as part of a team.
