Finance Operations Manager, Bradford, £35,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.
The organisation
The St Vincent de Paul Society is a Christian Charity whose aim is to alleviate poverty in all its forms through the provision of practical assistance to those in need. Our 10,000 volunteer members, motivated by their faith, are committed to the service of others. Our core befriending service is complemented by additional areas of activity such as community shops, support and advice centres, hostels, furniture projects, youth work, holiday provision and overseas aid.
The role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller (also based in Bradford) you will be responsible for leading the transactional finance team in Bradford and will have oversight of all aspects of sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank and cash management, and bank reconciliation, performing all monthly routines to support the production of management and financial accounts. Working closely with the Financial Controller you will provide financial support to projects including preparation of monthly management accounts, annual budgets and business partnering internal stakeholders. You will practice robust financial management and monitor all transactions for any internal irregularities.
About you
You will ideally be a qualified accountant, but applications will also be welcomed from part qualified or, AAT qualified candidates who are qualified by experience. You will have experience in producing management and financial accounts and proven ability to liaise with all departments across the charity. Proven experience of advanced excel including SUMIFS, VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables is essential to this role.
The successful candidate will have excellent verbal & written communication skills and will be able to influence and persuade colleagues through effective communication. Problem solving & analytical skills are highly important within the role as is the ability to suggest plans and strategies to deal with a broad range of complex activities. You will be able to work autonomously and will have proven experience of leading a team including performance management.
