This is an excellent opportunity to join this expanding and highly reputable organisation in a newly created role supporting the existing members of the finance team. This is a varied and interesting position which will include the following responsibilities:
This role will suit a candidate who is happy to attend to the routine duties as well as the more interesting accounting tasks with the same level of accuracy and attention. You are likely to have a minimum of 2 years accounting experience and ideally being working towards AAT qualification (which will be supported). You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain relationships both internally and externally. You will have advanced Excel skills with generally strong IT abilities. This genuinely is an excellent chance to join a really strong business with a view to developing your accounting career.
- Ledger management - ensure the accuracy of the financial data recorded in the ledgers, investigate and correct any errors
- Provide day to day support for colleagues maintaining purchase ledger, sales ledger and debt collection
- Bank account reconciliations, multiple accounts, multiple currencies and petty cash
- Balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals and prepayments
- Quarterly VAT returns, monthly Intrastat and EC Sales lists
- Management of the fixed asset register
- Monitor cashflow on a daily basis and analyse variances against forecast
- Assist with month end close
- Provide absence cover for other members of the department
- Assist the Finance Manager with projects/tasks
- Other ad hoc administrative duties
