Management Accountant

Our client based in Exeter are currently looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant.

This role will report directly into the CEO and manage a small finance team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost & Project Accounting
• Prepare reports, budgets, commentaries, and financial statements
• Develop and manage financial systems and policies
• Negotiates and obtain finance information for major projects
• Controls and forecasts income and expenditures
• Responsible for the month end and year end close processes
• Provide inputs for statutory reporting
• Create monthly management accounts and board presentation pack
• Supervise and manage the finance department's staff
• Suggest updates and improvements to the accounting systems and practices

The Candidate:

• At least 3 years proven work experience as a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or CPA)
• Strong operations experience with general ledger, month-end closing process, and year-end closing process knowledge
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Strong leadership & interpersonal skills
• Awareness and adherence to applicable privacy laws
• Strong technical accounting with advanced level of Excel to include the writing of macros to facilitate the manual reporting process

Our client is open to both full and part time candidates, however they will require the successful candidate to be present in the office every day of the week.
