Fund Accountant

A £$4.5 billion AUM multi-strategy hedge fund based in the West End are looking to recruit a Fund Accountant who will report into the CFO. While they manage $4.5 billion, they have a very close-knit lean team. Because of this, they are looking to add a 4th person to their finance team, so the exposure you will get will be vast. 

A perfect role for an ambitious practice qualified candidate looking for a broad role which encompasses more than just financial reporting. The Accounting team is in charge of fund valuations and trade bookings, but also supports the Investment Managers in liquidity monitoring, FX hedging and operational transaction support. 

They are an entrepreneurial and har working bunch so are looking for likeminded people. 

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly Investor Statements and Investment Valuations, with the assistance of fund administrators
• Active treasury management ‐ monitor fund liquidity, forecast cash flows and prepare cash
• KYC due diligence
• Hedge FX exposure
• Preparation of data requests such as performance metrics and investor due diligence
• Trading operations such as booking, monitoring settlements, posting corporate actions and client onboarding procedures
• Monitoring the closing process and perfection of security transfer etc
• Help prepare management accounts, financial & regulatory reporting for the Investment Manager
• Oversight of the preparation of US tax reporting
• Working with the finance team and wider business to manage and communicate the deadlines and processes required for month-end reporting
• Assess and understand the consequences of changes to Accountancy and Tax rulings and report on the implications they will have on the business
• Build relationships across the business to ensure objectives are achieved
• Partake in several projects to improve and streamline the finance function as a whole

The successful candidate will: 

• Be an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with up to 2 years post qualified experience 
• Have a strong academic background
• Strong Financial Accounting experience
• Have strong interpersonal & communication skills
• Experience of financial services regulatory regimes 
• Show excellent attention to detail, even when under pressure
• Ambition to get to the next level

This role pays £50,000 - £60,000 + bonus and benefits.
