Up to £41,993.58 (dependent on skills)
Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)
Our client is an independent not-for-profit organisation based in the beautiful Forest of Dean, with a £25 million turnover.
They are seeking a confident and experienced Accountant to take on their new position in the Finance team at their offices in Newent.
As Management Accountant your focus will be to proactively manage and develop their internal financial reporting and systems. You will work with colleagues to design and implement value added internal reporting and begin to embed a culture of business partnering with responsible budget holders. For this reason, knowledge and experience of working with finance systems within the Housing sector are essential, with working knowledge of Open Accounts being a significant advantage.
You will also be supporting their maintenance and repairs teams in a business partnering capacity to ensure they have access to timely, understandable and accurate management information. You will be instrumental in embedding a culture of KPI monitoring, cost control and understanding capital and revenue spending. Previous experience of designing management information and KPI reporting for similar business areas will be advantageous.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Resources you will also support the other management accountants by providing cover for their roles and assisting in the line management of finance assistants. They work in a non-hierarchical team orientated way, meaning that strong people skills, emotional intelligence and a relaxed can-do attitude are essential.
Other duties will include people management, assisting in the preparation of management accounts, regulatory returns, budgets, statutory accounts, taxation (corporate, VAT and PAYE).
A CCAB qualification or nearing qualification with equivalent experience and knowledge is essential.
