This leading distribution business has enjoyed steady growth following a private equity investment over five years ago. They are now a diverse group of companies, recognised as a leading brand name, with recent acquisitions overseas now making a very positive impact on the performance of the company. Following a period of restructuring they have now created a new position for a Management Accountant to join the business at this exciting time. Reporting into the Financial Controller this will be a varied role ideally suited to someone at CIMA / ACCA finalist or newly qualified level. Duties will include:

  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts
  • Reporting and analysis of divisional performance
  • Cashflow forecasting and control of working capital
  • Preparing budgets and financial performance reviews
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and relevant information for the audit process
  • Daily and monthly reporting to the board and senior management
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and month end close
  • Overseeing the invoice financing and import loan facilities
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and relevant information for the audit process
  • Preparation of VAT returns, Intrastat and EC Sales lists
  • Managing a transactional and payroll team

The role will also have a commercial element as you will be expected to liaise closely with suppliers, tracking purchase orders, preparing forward contracts for currency purchases and ultimately ensuring that cash flow is accurately accounted for. This is viewed as a key hire for the business and applicants must be able to demonstrate an excellent academic pedigree and desire for progression. A solid understanding of cash flow forecasting, financial and management accounting principles and the ability to prepare and deliver reports to a dynamic and ambitious senior management team will be essential
