Your new firm
A highly reputable firm of Chartered Accountants based across the Cheshire region are looking to appoint an Accountant (ACA / ACCA / QBE) to join the firms small business team in Northwich. This is an exciting new opportunity that has been created for someone who either is looking to develop portfolio management skills or is already an experienced manager. The firm will consider 4 days part time, flexible working or full time applications.

Your new role
As a Portfolio Manager will join a team of around eight employees who work with a broad range of small businesses, partnerships and sole traders under the audit threshold.

In this role you will manage a portfolio of clients, predominantly limited companies and be responsible for preparing and reviewing accounts, undertaking bookkeeping and quarterly VAT returns, preparing tax returns for both the personal and business needs and keeping in regular contact with your portfolio to provide any ad hoc business advice.

This is an autonomous role whereby you will gain responsibility for managing your workflow, billing and leading year end meetings with your clients. There is also the opportunity to work closely with the partner and gain involvement in networking in the local area and developing business.

What you'll need to succeed
The firm are seeking an experienced general practice accountant who is competent in preparing small company accounts and corporation tax computations. You will join a friendly but busy team and therefore you must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills and strong organisational skills. Ideally you will possess the ACA / ACCA qualification however AAT / QBE applications will be considered.

To be considered for this role at the lower end of the salary scale you do not need to have prior experience of managing a portfolio as the firm will train and develop you as necessary.
